The First War

The First War

War is an intense armed conflict between states, governments, societies or paramilitary groups such as mercenaries, insurgents and militias. As we all can acknowledge, war is a theme that is heavily written and spoken about. However, if we were to try and speak about the very first one,  there would be different arguments and opinions voiced. This is due to it being the FIRST of the first war known to mankind, and so it wasn't exactly recorded most accurately. The stories are passed from one generation to another and we have no proof that whether it's completely true or has been alternated. Thus, today we are going to be focusing more on a war widely known globally. World War 1, also known as the Great War, is known to mankind as one of the most important,  tragic, and devastating wars. This war is widely known as it was a very important lesson since so many countries were involved, and this later ran down our human history. I have explored the strategies, tragedies, and causes in my writing.

War. When you hear this word, many people think of the shedding of blood, gunshots, bombing,  ironies, tragedies, triumph, etc...

"Armed fighting between two or more countries or groups or any situation in which there is  strong competition between opposing sides or a great fight against something harmful."

This is the meaning of war stated in the Cambridge dictionary. However, to me, war is something a lot more than that. Although I have been studying history for only two years, I think  I've gotten an eyeful and have understood the topic from many perspectives. I've learned about wars, their causes, as well as the outcomes.

Some people crave it to take down the other party, some join as their allied parties are facing  issues, others do it to keep the peace, or for power, money, territory, etc… There are plenty of reasons and excuses, but the main idea we need to focus on is the outcomes of this. War is what occurs when a conflict is unsolved and the tension between two parties is too much and gradually turns into something more. It is generally characterized by extreme violence, aggression,  destruction, and mortality, using regular or irregular military sources.

Does anyone remember the first war? The very first one known to mankind. Now, readers, there are many passages on this topic. But since it was the FIRST of the first war known to mankind, it wasn't exactly recorded most accurately. The stories are passed from one generation to another and we have no proof that whether it's completely true or has been alternated. Thus, today we are going to be focusing more on a war widely known globally.

The most famous war known worldwide is World War 1, also known as the Great War from July  28, 1914 – November 11, 1918. This war affected the world gravely and taught us many valuable lessons indeed.

The immediate cause of World War 1 was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of  Austria-Hungary by a nationalist named Gavrilo Princip. In June 1914, a Serbian-nationalist terrorist group called the Black Hand sent groups to assassinate the Archduke and his wife.  Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia which was the start of many alliances between  European countries, thus sparking the war. However, this wasn't the only cause of this dynamic war. The four main causes were the building of alliances, the increasing of the military & navy sources, the practice of imperialism as well as the idea of nationalism.

After the declaration of war, they had immediately prepared weapons and machinery. Tanks,  zeppelins, Machine guns, submarines, Rifles, Flamethrowers, Mortars, Artillery, Poison gas,  Aircraft and so much more powerful and dangerous weapons. Poison gas was a weapon that caused choking, blindness, suffocation, and death.it was one of the newly created weapons by the  German. This was the first time so many weapons were made and used. They were power-hungry.

This deadly war came to an end and a treaty was formed. An organization named the League of  Nations was formed to keep the peace, however, the USA refused to join. But before they started the war, they didn't think of the outcomes and the aftermath. Countries went bankrupt, we're unable to provide, governments faced chaos and so much more happened.

In my perspective, I see it is rather useless to enter battle unless necessary like how the USA  stepped in to put an end to the war. There is a thin line between outrages and peace and we need to be careful in order not to overstep and get ourselves into another deathly war.
